ONE OF THE ASPECTS OF MY BUSINESS THAT ENHANCES MY LOVE OF PAINTING IS CREATING PORTRAITS OF OUR BELOVED ANIMALS.
I started this work as a means to donate my talents to charitable organizations for use in their fundraising efforts and auctions. Now as I've created more and more portraits on commission, I like to keep the initial intent of this work and therefore promise donations of 15% of the portrait commission to the animal charity of my client's choice. Giving back while also giving great joy to the families of the pets I paint - what is better than that?!
Now that the holidays are upon us, think of giving a gift of an absolutely spot-on painting of a beloved fur friend. Whether your sweet pet is still with you or has crossed the rainbow bridge, it is my great pleasure to memorialize them in a watercolor painting.

Here's what you do:
1. Check out my gallery of portraits for ideas on what you'd like your portrait to look like.
2. Take a look at the price list included below.
3. Once you've decided to move forward, or just have questions, please contact me via this website to set the conversation in motion.
4. Once we establish a game plan on size and content (head, full body, partial body or additional pets), send me the best photos you have that showcase your pet in the manner you feel best represents them. Natural lighting photos are always best because they show the true color of a pet's coat and eyes. Flash photographs tend to obscure the eye color and detail and add odd lighting to the fur. Photos that show detail in sharp focus are especially helpful since in most cases I can't meet the pet in person. Details of your pet's face in a close up photo is always helpful!
5. Finally, send me photos via email or other method that will allow for the highest resolution of the photo for me to work with. Please contact me with questions on how to achieve this when downloading photos from a digital camera. (If you only have snapshots in paper form, I will have you send them to me where I can copy them and send them right back to you.)
I work quite fast given the detail of the paintings, but I do require a good set of reference photos to work with for optimal results.

PORTRAIT PRICE STRUCTURE:
Cupid with Heart (9x10)
Smaller square portraits are best suited for focusing on the face of your pet. The larger rectangular portrait sizes are best suited for the full or partial body portraits. I don’t recommend going bigger than 12x16. The sizes indicated below are image sizes, unframed.
When considering sizes, know that they will need to be matted and framed behind glass, so figure on adding at least 4 inches to the size all around once the painting is ready for the wall. (A 6x6 painting will become at least 10x10 once framed for your wall.)
